Proust In the Belly of a Giant Mite
This is my favorite of all the paintings and drawings I’ve made. The story behind it is simple: years ago, I bought Proust’s In Search of Lost Time, which is considered a master piece. I tried to read it but I found it boring so, instead of finishing the book, I worked on this collage. Anyway, thank you Marcel Proust for the inspiration.

and
“Solar Warrior prepares for the Rain”

And more to come, soon.

Lindsay Lohan goes to Jail
The only thing the following piece has to do with its own title is time. I was thinking how to name the piece while, suddenly, an avalanche of tweets were talking about Lindsay Lohan going to jail. I let superficiality to win the game of naming the artwork. Sorry, Lindsay. I think you should be going to Yale, instead.
A dog, a fish and a cricket. What do they have in common?
Nothing and everything in common. Three different techniques for three different neurotic animals. All of them created after “emotionally difficult” times (a bad grade, a bad date, bad hair day. You name it). All of them crafted in Vancouver, B.C.
- Dysfunctional Cricket Fantasy
- Tornado Sushi Fish
- Downtown Dog
All roads lead to Mexico.
Two years ago I promised my friend @RZVLA73 I was going to paint something for him to display at his Architecture firm “usoarquitectura” in Mexico City. I’m from Mexico as well but have been living in Vancouver for six years. I visit my country at least twice a year and on each trip he reminded me the promise I made. Finally last month while I was visiting I decided to fulfill my promise and I painted this watercolor whose name translates to “What the Road Thinks About”.
- Watercolor. 22″ x 30″
- Fragment of “What the Road Thinks About”
- Fragment of “What the Road Thinks About”
- Fragment of “What the Road Thinks About”
Considering all the time my friend waited, I wanted the artwork to be on a large format. I couldn’t find larger watercolor paper. This one is 22 x 30″ (56 x 76 cm).
Royal Couple
I painted The King on October of 2009 and chose to wait presenting it to the world until painting his Queen. Both are watercolors, 9″ x 12″.
- The King
- The Queen
Ink dreams
Three dreams (maybe nightmares) made it to paper first and now to the web. You never know where dreams will end up.

- The Forest
- Showcase
Ink on paper. 8″ x 11″
Revisiting: Dolls Collection
I was mesmerized after experienced La fura dels Baus live. These dolls were inspired by OBS, the highly sensorial and visually rich performance I attended.
