These are the results of experimenting with acrylics and ink.
In this collage you can see the detail of the wavy texture of the acrylics.

Ink as a medium is a liberating experience, at least to me. The more you try to control it, the less it will flow. Ink needs a little bit of guidance, the rest is her decision. After all, ink has been around hundreds and hundreds of years. The usage of ink is embedded in our code already. There’s nothing to fear, she’ll never betray you. Ink has the ability to summon onto the paper all that was forgotten, not only by yes but by those generations that precede us.
Vancouver is known for being rainy. No surprise there. This year I’ve been making portraits inspired in that sunny-windy-cloudy-rainy season called Spring. More portraits can be seen on my official website: http://danielatovar.com
Most of these drawings were made “a la doodling”. That means that I was probably bored either in class or in a meeting. Sometimes I also draw when I have a break from other activities or when a video is rendering. It’s like playing or meditating, a way of liberation. Some of these drawings were the basis for other artwork however, the majority of them live quietly in a box. I hope posting them here makes them happy.
Three dreams (maybe nightmares) made it to paper first and now to the web. You never know where dreams will end up.
